DES PLAINES, IL – The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) named 148 regional Contractor of the Year winners during this year’s regional competition. Judging took place at NARI’s national headquarters in Des Plaines in January. The regional winners will now advance as finalists to the national level.

Contractors from seven regions around the country vie for Contractor of the Year Awards on an annual basis. In addition to being eligible for the national awards, regional winners will be honored at NARI’s Evening of Excellence on Saturday, March 28 at the Sheraton Atlanta.

Most projects submitted for judging were an improvement or an addition to an existing structure, with the exception of one category, Residential Exterior Specialty. Otherwise, new construction projects were not eligible. A panel of judges, who are experts within the industry and associated fields, selected winners based on each entrant’s before and after photography and project description. Judging was based on problem solving, functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship, innovation, degree of difficulty and entry presentation.
