HUNTSVILLE, Mo. — The Missouri STEM Initiative (MSI) has awarded a $1,000 grant to Westran Industrial Technology teacher, Allan Sharrock.
Combined with a $2,500 contribution from the Westran School District, the grant will help purchase a new jointer/planer for the high school’s woodworking program. The new equipment will enhance the program by helping students prepare for careers in trades and technical fields through hands-on training with machines.
The Missouri STEM Initiative works to advance STEM education across Missouri, empowering students to excel in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Partnering with schools like Westran, MSI hopes to support and develop the future of Missouri’s workforce.
“We are excited to support Westran’s efforts to give students hands-on learning opportunities,” said Dave Patton, MSI president/founder, in a press release. “These investments are crucial for preparing Missouri students for careers in industrial technology and STEM fields.”
