TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — In 2024, the owners of TC Millworks, a custom millwork shop in Traverse City, Michigan, decided that their 10,800-square-foot space no longer met their needs and made the decision to relocate. Following the move, an application was submitted by Tim Pulliam, owner of TC Millworks, for a Planned Unit Development (PUD) at the previous millwork site.
As a Traverse City native, Pulliman proposed redeveloping the property into a mixed-use residential and commercial hub. He asked the City Commissioners to consider three housing units, and underground parking garage, and another building for commercial businesses. Woodworking Network will share further details of the redevelopment plan as they become available.
In addition to the Planning Commission meetings, Pulliman has met several times with City staff, including with representatives from numerous departments for specific discussions in order to shape a plan that aligns with city goals. On August 4, City staff and PUD agreed on a five year action plan, greenlighting the project.
This approved request will redevelop the area commonly referred to as TC Millworks into a mixed-use development consisting of four buildings, three for residential purposes and one for commercial purposes, with underground parking, a new nonmotorized connection to the Boardman Lake Loop Trail, and the paving of a portion of Sheffer St with public on-street parking.
