Video preview: Zero joint edgebanding at WPE Texas

ARLINGTON, Texas - Maze Machinery, a distributor of solid wood and panel processing machinery serving Texas woodworking companies since 2001, will demonstrate the Holz-Her Auriga 1308 edgebander with zero joint technology at Wood Pro Expo Texas.

Maze plans to demonstrate the Holz-Her Auriga 1308 edgebander at booth #427 during both days of the expo, which is being co-located with the Cabinets & Closets Expo, March 12-13 at the Arlington Convention Center. The Auriga 1308 will be featured in the Running Machine Program taking place throughout both days of Wood Pro Expo.

The Auriga 1308 edgebander features Holz-Her's Glu Jet application system, a hybrid technology that uses EVA or PUR glues in cartridge or granulate form. Maze's demonstrations will focus on the benefits of using PUR adhesives to achieve a zero edge glue line.

According to Holz-Her, PUR adhesives' technical advantages over conventional EVA adhesives include:

  • Uncompromising water resistance;
  • High-strength connection - the edge is very solid;
  • Low processing temperature (approximately 140°C/285°F) saves energy; and
  • Due to the thin viscosity, the PUR penetrates deeply into the board structure and seals the connection between board and edge.
