KINGSTON, Mass. — Lamello USA, a division of Colonial Saw, Inc., announced that the Cabineo 12 connector system has been certified under the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association's performance and construction standard, which the company says is a "milestone for the product’s acceptance across the U.S. cabinet manufacturing industry."

Testing was conducted by Home Innovation Research Labs, an ISO-accredited independent laboratory. The structural performance of cabinets constructed with Cabineo 12 were evaluated in accordance with the ANSI/KCMA A161.1-2022 Performance and Construction Standard for Kitchen and Vanity Cabinets.

The certification provides Lamello USA with an official, nationwide validation of Cabineo’s strength and reliability—supporting broader adoption within residential and commercial cabinetry production.

Cabineo is Lamello’s high-strength connector system designed for CNC-based cabinet production. It eliminates the need for cams and dowels, reduces assembly time, and provides exceptional holding strength in a wide range of materials. The connectors are distributed in the U.S. by Lamello USA, a division of Colonial Saw.

Test overview
Lamello USA submitted a wall cabinet and base cabinet constructed from 5/8" particleboard using Cabineo 12 connectors.

Home Innovation Research Labs performed the following evaluations:

Section 5.2 — Static Loading for Mounted Wall Cabinets

  • A static load of 600 pounds was applied gradually over four minutes.
  • After release of the load, the cabinet showed no cracking, separation, or permanent deformation.
  • Result: Passed according to KCMA A161.1-2022 Section 5.2.

Section 5.3 — Base Front Joint Loading

  • A 200-pound load was applied over four minutes.
  • The cabinet’s front joints remained secure with no visible signs of failure or joint opening.
  • Result: Passed according to KCMA A161.1-2022 Section 5.3.

Both tests confirm that Cabineo 12 meets the structural performance criteria required for modern kitchen and vanity cabinet construction under KCMA standards.

Passing the KCMA A161.1 provides Lamello USA with an industry-recognized credential that supports cabinet shops, OEM manufacturers, and millwork companies seeking certified construction methods, said Chris Hofmann, Lamello USA product manager.

“This certification validates what our customers experience every day — Cabineo delivers reliable, high-strength performance in real-world cabinet construction," he said. “We’re excited to offer a fastening solution that is now backed by an official, nationwide industry standard.”
