WAUSAU, WI — Kolbe & Kolbe Millwork Co. Inc., a manufacturer of windows and doors, is laying off 334 production and office employees, most of them at the firm's Wausau plant, because of the continuing decline in the residential and light construction industries, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The company said it expects the layoffs to be temporary and intends to call back as many workers as possible by early spring. The actual number will depend on the extent to which the economic recovery drives sales, Kolbe President Michael Salsieder said in a statement.
