RIVERSIDE, Calif. – IMG Comfort, a division of high-end Norwegian seating specialist Ekornes, has opened a new warehouse in California - allowing the company to expand its capacity by five-fold.

A relocation from Coronia, California to Riverside, the new 36,000-square-foot facility - located near Los Angeles ports - will provide shorter lead times and quicker turnaround for customers. The new warehouse features a five-high, energy efficient custom rack plan, boosting capacity substantially over its former plant.

IMG says its growth is up more than 50 percent in the U.S. over the past few years alone. The company has seemingly been unaffected by the tariff war, probably due to a large manufacturing presence in Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe.

IMG has also upgraded its supply chain, which should reduce lead times by another 12 percent.

“The industry is changing fast, and we have to innovate,” said CFO and COO Jessika Guaran in a release. “Consumers expect faster delivery times and transparency from A to Z. Our new supply chain gives them assurance and confidence in our products and services.”

“The new facility will allow us to meet and exceed our growth demands and continue to provide the top-level service our customers have come to expect from us,” added National Sales Manager Michael Hansen.
