Gemini Coatings acquires Rudd wood finishes

EL RENO, Okla. – Gemini Coatings has entered into an agreement to acquire substantially all of the assets of Rudd Co. Inc., an independently owned wood coatings manufacturer based in Seattle, Washington, and whose brands include Rudd and Glitsa.

Terms of the acquisition, announced May 30, were not disclosed.

“Rudd Company was established in 1912 and has built trusted brands with a robust product line,” said Chris Hicks, president/CEO of Gemini Coatings. “Their reputation for innovation, reliability and customer service is a perfect fit with our own values and mission. We relish the opportunity to expand our range of solutions for our customers.”

Gemini Coatings is a 100% employee-owned wood coatings manufacturing company with a focus on interior and exterior coatings for professional wood finishers, distributors and consumers.

“This acquisition will add value for current Rudd and Glitsa customers through our knowledgeable sales and technical teams as well as access to Gemini’s current family of brands,” Hicks added. “We look forward to building those relationships as well as the ability to offer our current customers, independent retailers and distributor network the opportunity to explore new products in both the Rudd Wood Finishes and Glitsa Wood Floor Finishes product lines.”

Founded in 1964 and based in El Reno, Oklahoma, Gemini manufactures and distributes wood coatings across North America with seven manufacturing and distribution facilities.
