HOLLAND, Mich. — Choice Machinery Group has appointed Matthew Kooistra as its new vice president of engineering.
With more than two decades of experience in manufacturing engineering, management, and continuous improvement, Kooistra brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the company.
Kooistra's career spans various leadership roles with a strong emphasis on engineering, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement. Kooistra joins Choice Machinery Group from Mighty Lube/OPCO in Fremont, Michigan, where he served as plant manager for the last year. Before Mighty Lube, Matt held positions ranging from plant manager, technical services manager, and senior manufacturing engineer in the office furniture and housing products industries. In those positions, he led teams ranging in size from 10 to 120 people. Matt’s degree is from Grand Valley State University, and he is also a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. His professional development includes certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Standardized Work, and Total Productive Maintenance.
