GORDON COUNTY, Ga. - Complete Flooring Supply (CFS), a Chinese-owned hardwood flooring supplier, will build its first manufacturing plant in Gordon County, Georgia, creating 100 jobs.

The company, whose manufacturing operations are headquartered in Shanghai, will invest $30 million in the new production plant. CFS currently imports and distributes laminate, solid wood, and engineered flooring products primarily to the U.S. and Canadian markets. It currently operates distribution centers in Georgia and California.

Bin Liu, vice president of CFS, said the Georgia Department of Economic Development and its China team helped support the site selection and ultimate project development.

"They helped us coordinate with partners in utility service and local government, and made sure we all worked together cohesively," Liu said. "We firmly believe that Georgia is a great place to do business."

Gordon County's Chamber of Commerce said it was glad to have CFS expand its business in the county.

"CFS' decision to establish its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Gordon County is a testament to Georgia's preeminent position for global commerce," Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal said in an announcement of the new manufacturing facility today. "Manufacturing is a vital component of our robust and growing economy, representing approximately 10 percent of our state's GDP. As the gateway to the Southeastern market, Georgia will provide CFS with the skilled workforce and strategic resources needed to expand its customer base and maintain its competitive edge." This latest announcement will provide greater opportunities for Georgia citizens, while bolstering our reputation as a top destination for international job creators."

The decision comes as the Trump administration is considering proposals to impose 10 percent tariffs on Chinese made hardwood flooring production imported into the United States.
