COLUMBIA FALLS, Mont. — SmartLam has promoted Jim Henjum to vice president of Engineering & Design.
Henjum has been an invaluable asset to SmartLam’s engineering, design, and CNC programming teams. This new leadership role reflects both his dedication to the company and his standing as a respected, industry-wide expert in mass timber construction.
For over two decades, Henjum has been at the forefront of project design, management, and consulting engineering, successfully designing and delivering hundreds of mass timber projects throughout his career. He is also deeply involved in shaping the future of the built environment, lending his expertise to the ANSI/APA PRG-320 Standard for Performance-Rated CLT committee since 2017 to help set the manufacturing and performance benchmarks that guide the industry.
Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Montana and Washington, and an Structural Engineer in Idaho, Henjum will now oversee SmartLam's cross-facility engineering and design strategies. His proven leadership ensures SmartLam's technical execution remains the gold standard as the company expands market presence and support for clients' most architectural visions.
