Builders FirstSource appoints Alena Brenner to chief legal officer, EVP role

IRVING, Texas — Builders FirstSource, Inc. announced the appointment of Alena Brenner as Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, reporting to CEO Peter Jackson. Brenner will lead all legal, risk management, government affairs, compliance, corporate social responsibility, and insurance functions for the Company. She will also serve as the primary legal advisor to the Builders FirstSource Board of Directors.

"Alena’s breadth of experience in advising on legal matters related to our industry, litigation and risk management, corporate governance, and the execution of strategic business initiatives will bring significant value to Builders FirstSource," said Jackson. "I am looking forward to the positive influence her leadership will have on our team and those we serve.”

Brenner has nearly 25 years of legal experience in industries including manufacturing, CPG and fleet management. She joins the Company from Cornerstone Building Brands, where she served as EVP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary beginning in 2021. Prior to that, Brenner held various legal leadership positions with Ryder System, Inc. including General Counsel of its largest division, Fleet Management Solutions, before advancing to Deputy General Counsel of Ryder. She also previously worked for Anheuser-Busch InBev and Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP in New York.

Brenner earned her juris doctor from New York’s Fordham School of Law and has been admitted to the bar in New Jersey and New York. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University.
