All Signs Point To a Successful SIBO

LAVAL, QUE — With less than three weeks to go before Salon Industriel du Bois Ouvré (SIBO) opens its doors on Oct. 23, all statistics indicate this year’s event will be the most successful SIBO ever.  

SIBO will be held Oct. 23-25 at Place Forzani in Laval. Quebec’s most important biennial woodworking event will feature more than 130 exhibitors covering the 90,000-square-foot exhibit hall. SIBO 2008 will be the largest industrial woodworking show ever held in Quebec and second largest in Canada, only surpassed by Woodworking Machinery & Supply Expo (WMS) held in Toronto last year.

In addition to the sold-out exhibit hall, advance registration is 24% ahead of the record setting 2006 event.  More than 5,000 professionals are expected to attend SIBO 2008.

Of the 2008 are-registrants:
• 44% are top managers in their organizations;
• 30% come from large companies; and
• 30% will attend SIBO for the first time.

The SIBO Expo will be preceded by the most diverse wood products conference in Quebec.  “Focus on Growth Strategies” will be held Oct. 22, at the nearby Sheraton Laval. the SIBO conference will feature five sessions presented by experts on a range of current topics affecting the woodworking industry including:
