Brian Carson spearheaded the company’s rapid rise to becoming one of the largest hard surface flooring producers in the world.

Carson has elected to assume a new role outside the flooring industry, the company said.

AHF chief financial officer Brent Emore will assume the role of interim CEO, effective immediately. Emore has more than 20 years of experience in the flooring industry, and brings a strong track record of business transformations and operational excellence. AHF, which ranks #19 on the FDMC 300 listing, has initiated a search for a permanent CEO and will evaluate both internal and external candidates. The search will prioritize an executive who embodies AHF's core values of empowering employees, fostering loyalty and advancing innovation and manufacturing excellence.

Carson began his career with Armstrong in 1997, serving as plant manager at its Kankakee tile plant. He was promoted to senior vice president, North American Flooring before taking a position with Mohawk as president, hard surfaces in 2006. He spent 12 years with Mohawk, ultimately serving as president, Mohawk Flooring North America before taking the top position at AHF.

“Leading AHF and building it into a premier flooring company over the past six years is one of my greatest achievements in a career that spans more than three decades," says Carson. "I am incredibly proud of what our team has accomplished, and I’m excited about the company’s future. AHF is in great hands with a talented and dedicated team, and I look forward to watching the company continue to thrive in 2025 and beyond. After more than 35 years in the flooring industry, I am eager to begin a new chapter and take on the new challenge.”

Through innovation and acquisitions, Carson has spearheaded the company’s rapid rise to becoming one of the largest hard surface flooring producers in the world.

AHF Products launched in 2019 following the spinoff by Armstrong Flooring Inc. of its wood flooring segment. Headquartered in Pennsylvania, AHF also has manufacturing operations in West Virginia, Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, and Cambodia. Its brands include: Bruce, Hartco, Robbins, LM Flooring, Capella, HomerWood, Hearthwood, Autograph, Timbr., Parterre, AHF Contract, and Armstrong Flooring, acquired in 2022.

That acquisition brought not only AHF’s journey but also Carson’s full circle. Carson joined Armstrong in 1997, fresh out of college. Over the next 15 years he moved through the ranks, including plant manager, vice president of international operations and senior vice president of North American flooring operations and manufacturing. In 2006 he went to Mohawk Industries and was president of the hard surfaces unit, before becoming COO and then president of Mohawk Flooring North America. Carson joined AHF in 2019.

"Having been privileged enough to know and work with Brian for 16 years, I look forward to a seamless and steady transition for employees and customers,” Emore said.
