ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The American Association of Woodturners' Gallery of Wood Art Professional Outreach Program has announced its 2017 annual international exhibition, The Sphere-Second Round. The exhibitions bring an international mix of smaller-scale works by established and emerging wood artists to the AAW gallery in St. Paul. The exhibition runs through June 4, 2017.
The works in the show showcase imaginative and individual interpretations. Using a wide variety of woods and techniques, the artists met the challenge of working within a small scale (6 x 6 x 6 inches maximum) and a tight title theme with pieces ranging from wryly humorous to highly personal to apocalyptic.
The Sphere-Second Round is at the AAW Gallery of Wood Art, Landmark Center, 75 W. 5th St, St. Paul, before traveling to the 2017 AAW International Woodturning Symposium, Kansas City Convention Center, Kansas City, Missouri, June 22-25. All works will be sold in a simultaneous live/online auction on Saturday, June 24, 2017. Artists include:
