NEW YORK — Rockefeller Center announced on Monday that the tree that has been chosen was grown in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts. This year marks the first time in 65 years that the tree is coming from Massachusetts. The tree, a Norway spruce, is expected to arrive November 9th.

The tree, which is around 70 years old, was donated by a local family. It stands 74 feet tall, 43 feet wide, and weighs approximately eleven tons. The tree will be on display until mid-January, and then it will be donated to Habitat for Humanity, creating more homes for those in need.
