CHARLOTTE, NC -– Wurth Wood Group, headquartered in Charlotte, NC, has been named the exclusive wholesale distributor for Wilsonart International’s Northern Virginia and Baltimore, MD, markets, as well as co-distributor for all of North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee from Wurth distribution centers located in Charlotte, Greensboro and Raleigh. Wurth Wood Group will handle distribution of Wilsonart’s laminates, solid surfaces, adhesives, decorative edges, decorative metals and sinks beginning Jan. 2, 2012.
Wurth has been a Wilsonart distributor since 1998 in Richmond and Norfolk VA, and the two companies have more recently partnered in Roanoke, VA, Chattanooga, TN, and Atlanta, GA. “We are thrilled to expand our role with Wilsonart,” says Roger Debnam, president of Wurth Wood Group. “It is our goal to offer customers the best and most trusted products for the trade, and Wilsonart helps us do just that.”
The exclusive relationship in Baltimore/North Virginia and the addition of the North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee markets will allow Wurth to streamline its offering across much of the company’s footprint. Wilsonart products will replace Formica and Nevamar brands in their respective markets.
Wurth Wood Group has been in business since 1983, distributing decorative high pressure laminate (HPL) and related items to support the cabinetmaking, countertop and store fixture industry. Wurth operates 12 distribution centers in seven states.
“Wurth is ideally positioned to represent Wilsonart in the mid-Atlantic markets,” says Buddy Mohler, Wilsonart director of sales for Independent Distribution. “They understand the challenges and opportunities that exist in these markets with our shared customers. Both of our companies are focused on growth for the products we market.”
Wurth Wood Group will replace REICO as sole distributor for Wilsonart in the Baltimore/Northern Virginia markets.
