Kitchen, cooking and the storage of foodstuffs are closely linked. Where the larder cabinet was once synonymous with the storage of the most diverse foods, it has now been replaced by the larder cabinet pull-out. The new generation of cabinets automatically and comfortably moves the bas-kets and stored items towards the user, hence providing a perfect overview of the contents. At the interzum 2015, Vauth-Sagel is expanding its larder cabinet product line to include the narrow VSA 300 and 400 versions, therefore of-fering customers across the globe an even broader, modu-lar range.
The VSA is the new generation of larder cabinets for modern kitchens. Users can store, and swiftly access, the most diverse foodstuffs and kitchen utensils on up to five spacious levels. With just one movement, everything stored in the cabinet com-fortably and automatically emerges from the carcass, hence making access to stored foodstuffs even easier. On the occa-sion of the interzum, Vauth-Sagel is presenting further, narrow versions of the VSA, offering a comprehensive product range within the new generation of larder cabinet pull-outs.
Expanded range now includes narrow pull-outs
The VSA product family is based on 450-, 500- and 600-millimetre-wide pull-outs. These are available in six different basic heights and equipped with a further infinite-variability op-tion. The maximum load is 75 kilogrammes, with each tray ca-pable of holding a total weight of up to 15 kilogrammes. These VSA variants are not preferential to any one side, so can be in-stalled for whichever direction the door needs to be opened.
From the interzum 2015, the range will be expanded to in-clude the width variants VSA 300 and 400 with wide-angle hinge. The trays, chamfered on both sides, ensure excellent exploitation of the storage space for cabinets just 300 or 400 millimetres wide. With the wide-angle hinge, the door can be opened up to 160 degrees, providing the best-possible over-view of the contents. Once again, just lightly pulling the door suffices to extend the baskets automatically 30 centimetres out of the cabinet interior. And the pull-out retracts automatically upon closing the door. A further advantage of this system com-ponent is that it is not preferential to any one side, so can therefore be installed on the left or right.
In addition to the models with wide-angle hinges, Vauth-Sagel offers its international customers a further sophisticated design variant: the VSA 300 and 400 synchro. This larder cabi-net pull-out was conceived especially for corner situations where a small opening angle is required so as not to impact on surrounding walls or front panels. The unilaterally-angled bas-kets automatically extend up to 15 centimetres towards the user upon opening. When pulling the tray itself, pull-outs can be fully extended out of the carcass. Closing also works by moving the baskets into the cabinet interior.
Larder cabinet pull-outs superior to drawers
Even if drawers have virtually replaced standard doors in kitch-ens over the past few years, they do have their utilisation limitations. And this is where modern larder cabinet pull-outs such as the VSA really reveal their advantages. For example, the VSA enables a minimalist look in kitchens. Up to five levels can be concealed behind a single front panel. Perfect overview with just one pull. Conversely, drawers require up to eight movements to provide the user with the same overview as a correspondingly-proportioned VSA. If at all: the rear of drawers often remains out of sight, so that in the worst case users have to rummage around to find the utensil required.
And the technologies deployed are also different: drawers require up to 14 visible guides, while the VSA needs just two guides, invisible at the top and the bottom of the carcass.
Flexibility is a further benefit of the VSA. While drawers are permanently fixed over their entire life in accordance with the kitchen design, the VSA baskets can be flexibly adapted to the user requirements at any time.
Individual design diversity
To allow kitchen manufacturers, and ultimately also end con-sumers, maximum design diversity, all VSA models can use the tried-and-tested basket designs from the Vauth-Sagel range: Classic, Saphir, Premea, Premea Glassline and Premea Artline. Premea further extends this design offering by giving customers the option to have the tray bottom panels in a custom colour. The same applies to the frame colours.
Efficient packaging and easy assembly
And Vauth-Sagel also has a service-oriented approach to packaging. The modular system provides clarity, as the entire VSA comes in just three packages. A benefit for all kitchen furniture manufacturers using several different Vauth-Sagel products: the guide and the rear frame of the VSA and DUSA are identical. With the exception of the VSA 300/400 millimetre synchro, the system fittings are not preferential to any one side, which reduces warehousing costs and simplifies dispatching.
The subsequent installation is carried out in three steps: the guides are screwed to the top and bottom of the cabinet and the door actuator is installed. Connecting the frame to the guide is carried out tool-free, as is fitting the baskets.
Invaluable service information: the Vauth-Sagel app
To make the selection and installation of the VSA as simple as possible for fitters, Vauth-Sagel offers numerous services relat-ing to fittings. These include a specially-designed app that comprises the VSA models with numerous photos, for example. And the various tray and basket variants can also be viewed on smart phones and tablets. There are 360° views, an image video, the respective installation instructions and an installation video for all models. Needless to say, the app not only includes new products, it covers all Vauth-Sagel products. And if despite this something remains unclear, users can make swift contact with the supplier using the app.
