Creativity starts as soon as the focus is no longer just on standard products. For more than 20 years now, the narrow Diagonal Side Pull-out (DSA) has been a flexible design element for modern kitchens, which – with its small width and numerous features – makes a real impact whenever standard 60-cm pull-outs cannot be used. Creativity starts as soon as the focus is no longer just on standard products. This also applies to modern kitchens tailored to the respective needs of, and the space available to, the later users. Here, excellent design is required, as the centre of food preparation should not only look great, it should also be convincingly functional. For more than 20 years now, the narrow Diagonal Side Pull-out (DSA) has been a flexible design element, which – with its small width and numerous features – makes a real impact whenever standard 60-cm pull-outs cannot be used. At the interzum 2015, Vauth-Sagel is presenting the DSA with a completely new generation of guides.

Regardless of whether in the entry or premium segments: side pull-outs are today fixed features of modern kitchen designs, as widths smaller than the 60-cm standard can be used appropriately. From the outside, the Vauth-Sagel Diagonal Side Pull-out (DSA) appears reserved, something that dramatically changes when extending it. Here, the side pull-out reveals its actual size. It can be configured with various features: choose from a selection of baking tray holders, towel shelves, wine racks and basket variants for storing oils and spices. This makes the DSA a true specialist and all-rounder when exploiting spaces narrower than 60 cm in width.

A classic with state-of-the-art technology

As part of its regular product updates, Vauth-Sagel has contin-ually upgraded the DSA over the years: what was once a partial pull-out with simple ball-bearing guides is now a high-comfort full pull-out. On the occasion of the interzum 2015 in Cologne, Vauth-Sagel will be unveiling the current generation of the DSA, the primary focus of which will be its own, further-developed guide. The new ball-bearing cage guide convinces not only with its velvet-smooth movement, but also with its comfortable, cushioned self-closing feature. Here, the technology works its magic invisibly, as the entire guide unit is concealed by the fitting design. In addition to its own new guide unit, the DSA can still be fitted with subsurface guides from other manufacturers.

Numerous customisation options

The DSA can be creatively used in kitchen designs in many different ways. Available in 150-, 200- and 300-millimetre cabinet widths, the DSA is perfect for all front panel types with angles of 90, 45 or 35 degrees. Here, the 90-degree variant can be used on the left or the right. Furthermore, five different frame heights supplement the optimum flexibility for kitchen designs. The maximum load is a remarkable 20 kilogrammes; in other words, 10 kilogrammes per basket. Thanks to the Vauth-Sagel modular architecture, the DSA can be beautifully customised using the Classic, Saphir, Premea, Premea Glassline and Premea Artline ranges. In the case of Premea, the bottom panels are also available in custom colours or décors.

Easy fit: simple assembly and comprehensive instructions

Assembly-friendliness is also something that is typical of Vauth-Sagel. To this end, the Vauth-Sagel app (available for free from the Apple Store and from Google Play) bundles service offerings for both customers and fitters. These include detailed installation instructions, drilling templates and installation videos with step-by-step instructions. These and much more are available to users worldwide – also off-line – for all standard tablet devices.

The actual installation is also very simply and is extensively carried out tool-free: the new guides are screwed to the carcass and – after mounting the frame on the guides – the front panels are attached to the frame and the baskets inserted tool-free. The latter are height-adjustable and can be readjusted by the end user in accordance with their specific requirements. The packaging units are also modular in design and the DSA comes in two packaging units. Here, the basket variants always form their own unit, which can also be a benefit in everyday business life.
