MUSCATINE, IA --Voi, an integrated solution for multiple work styles, is new from The HON Company for 2011. The collection of layered worksurfaces and practical storage components is designed to meet the personal needs of any user in any type of workplace application—from private and semi-private office to teaming, touch down and open plan. Not only does Voi achieve the right mix of functionality and style, it creates a unified, cohesive aesthetic for an entire workplace community; and, it does so with an efficient offering that is easy to specify and intuitive to install. The new series will be featured among HON’s NeoCon introductions at the company’s Chicago Merchandise Mart Showroom, #1130.

“Voi was purposely developed for small and medium-sized businesses that are The HON Company’s core customer base,” explained Mark Roumfort, vice president of product design and development. “The need has emerged in this segment of the market—as it has in others—to be flexible and adaptable for the unpredictable changes businesses are experiencing. One day a company is shrinking, the next it’s expanding. With Voi, we’re helping them respond and be ready for tomorrow and whatever workplace transformation may become necessary.”

Integrated Design
Voi is visually compelling. The styling is sleek and refined, reflecting a lighter scale. And, as horizontal work surface planes are combined or layered with storage in a variety of configurations, it creates a look that is fresh, simple and dynamic. While Voi provides an integrated design throughout a workplace, unifying a variety of spaces with consistent style, it attractively fits into an array of décors, whether conventional or contemporary.

The extraordinary versatility of Voi is due, in part, to the variety of multi-purpose components and materials. Worksurface options include four basic forms—rectangle, rudder, saddle and wedge. There’s also a selection of supports, such as a simple O-leg, plus pedestal and cabinet options that incorporate storage. Additional storage choices let you build vertically (both above and below) as well as horizontally from the desk and include: credenzas that fit neatly beneath the work surface, layering shelves, wardrobe towers, open shelf bookcases in a range of heights, and overhead cabinets—some open, some with doors. Pops of bright color are attainable via metal storage cubes painted in cheery hues; it’s an addition that reflects the unique vitality of Voi.
The selection of finishes and materials also contributes its share. Laminates are available in solid, mesh and wood grain; paint choices in 13 colors; door fronts in solid, wood grain or in frosted or textured translucent surfaces. Drawer and cabinet handles are thoughtfully designed to be functional, easy to grip, yet the ideal decorative accent.

Personalized Flexibility
The HON Company’s development team deliberately chose the name Voi, which means “you” in Italian, because Voi works for you—the individual—as much as it does for the collective you and your business. The design is perfect, as well, in helping to convey the right image and corporate identity.
Voi components are compactly scaled and can be composed into numerous configurations that support the different ways individuals work. One of the great advantages of Voi is that it actually yields more work area in the same footprint of what currently exists. That’s due to the layering of surfaces together with the overlapping planes and under surface storage—a hard-working combination that makes optimal use of both vertical and horizontal space. In short, Voi is decidedly efficient in all of its iterations and applications.

Efficient Offering
While Voi is efficient for the end user, it is equally so for those responsible for the purchase and ultimate installation. There is a surprisingly minimal number of basic components, making it easy to specify, which translates to less stress, time and cost in the decision-making process. As for assembly, it is intuitive, which also reduces the time and costs for installation. What’s more, if a need arises to revise the workspace to support personnel changes or moves, that, too, is simple to complete.
Accessories are smart, practical and indispensible. They include drawer organizers, cushions to transform a credenza into convenient seating, modesty panels and privacy screens, a marker board and even a LED light for under-cabinet mounting.
Voi is compatible with HON’s Abound and Initiate systems, key components for creating panel-based workstations. And, Voi is reliably durable. The strong inner-frame, metal-to-metal construction assures that it is built for long life performance. Laminates are resilient and resistant to scratches, stains and wear. It is all covered by The HON Company’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.
The abundance of choices presented by Voi are simplified by several helpful tools offered by HON. On the company’s website, www.hon.com, are both a selection guide and an animation qualifier.
