HOMAG Group raises order intake benchmark approximately 20%

-- An outstanding trade fair mood, intensive customer interaction and an inspiring portfolio – combined, these factors brought the HOMAG Group top marks at LIGNA 2011 in Hanover. Compared to the record year 2007, the HOMAG Group ratcheted up its order intake at the fair by about 20% – and compared to 2009 it even rose almost 50%.

With more than 90,000 visitors attending LIGNA in Hanover, of which over 50% came from abroad, the trade fair operator was more than satisfied. The audience of professionals attending this increasingly international trade fair not only included a large number of visitors from established European markets but also from the emerging BRIC markets (Brazil, Russia, India, China).

The HOMAG Group was again the largest exhibitor in the leading trade fair for the woodworking industry and cabinet makers, and its participation clearly paid off: with 6,000 m2 of floor space in the INDUSTRY area of hall 26 and 1,500 m2 in the PRACTIVE area of the cabinet makers hall 11, the HOMAG Group was a major attraction.

With its fair stand concept “HOMAG City”, the HOMAG Group aimed to generate enthusiasm and passion for its technology.
Starting with designed-to-order furniture making, HOMAG Group demonstrated its core competency as a provider to the market of a complete product portfolio. From flawless surface finishing and edge processing to innovative packaging technologies, the system supplier presented the entire spectrum of furniture manufacturing – both in the areas of series and batchsize-1 production.

The global leader's capabilities along the complete process chain in the field of construction component manufacturing, were also evident at “HOMAG City”. The HOMAG Group emphasized its solutions competence in this field by exhibiting a timberframe house with windows, doors, stairs and parquet flooring.

The heart of “HOMAG City”: the InnovationCenter
A hive of activity, the HOMAG Group’s InnovationCenter housed more than 26 units with numerous technical highlights, new process technologies and patented innovations on display for a select audience of professionals.

Visitors were inspired by the global market leader’s mood and were won over by patented innovations like the laserTec technique and the revolutionary reacTec laminating technology. In the field of resource efficiency, ecoPlus technologies also brought visitors on board. ecoPlus encompasses numerous developments and technologies that cut energy consumption by as much as 30%, thus permanently reducing operating costs. Some 80,000 metric tons of CO2 can be saved each year with ecoPlus measures like standby operation, optimized extraction, passive cooling or controlled consumption of compressed air.

Into the second half of the year with tailwind
During the many intense talks, the passion for our products proved contagious. Jürgen Köppel, Head of Sales, therefore anticipates excellent post-trade-fair business. “There was particularly great demand for offers coming from established European markets and from BRIC countries,” says Köppel. “We extended our welcome to visitors from a total of 90 countries to our two stands at the fair.”
