PARKERSBURG, W.VA. – SimEx™, a vinyl extrusion company owned by Simonton Windows®, celebrated a milestone safety record on March 17th of four consecutive years without a lost time injury.

Located in St. Marys, W. Va., the 24-hour SimEx operation supplies rigid vinyl window profiles to Simonton and PVC products to Fypon®. The company has performed compounding, rigid PVC extrusion, foam PVC extrusion, recycling, tooling manufacturing and sales of rigid and foam PVC products at its facility since 2000.
“We believe, for any Simonton facility, that this is the longest consecutive safety achievement on record,” says Pennock. “This landmark record comes as a result of our employees being exceptionally aware of safety aspects at the facility. Everyone is focused on safety features and procedures at SimEx.”
SimEx operates 26 extrusion lines, plus a compounding and blending operation, and support departments. The plant also has a recycling operation, machining and tooling and maintenance departments.
Celebrating its 65th year of quality manufacturing operations in 2011, Simonton Windows produces ENERGY STAR® qualified replacement and new construction windows and doors, including a line of impact-resistant products. Simonton ranked “Highest in Builder and Remodeler Satisfaction among Residential Window and Patio Door Manufacturers” in the J.D. Power and Associates 2010, 2009, 2008 Builder and Remodeler Residential Window and Patio Door Satisfaction StudySM. The company also ranked “Highest in Customer Satisfaction among Residential Window and Patio Door Manufacturers” in the J.D. Power and Associates 2010 Windows and Patio Doors Satisfaction StudySM.
