MANHATTAN BEACH, CA - Doug Mockett & Company awarded two winners in its record-breaking 2013 Design Competition.

William Lawrence of Anna, TX, and Julien Egger of Los Angeles, CA, each received first place awards. Their hardware designs stood out among a record number of entries for the 28th annual competition.

Lawrence won first place for his three different panel grip design concepts and Egger took home a top prize of an aluminum bracket shelf support design.

Both winning participants will receive a $1,000 cash prize, a trophy and royalties based on sales of their winning entries.

2014 Call for Entries
Entries are now being accepted for the 2014 Doug Mockett & Company Design Competition.

The company said it is "Seeking the best innovative ideas in furniture parts, components, accessories and hardware. Even if you think your idea is too prosaic, dull, unusual or 'not good enough,' we urge you to send it in and let us be the judge. You would be surprised at how many First Place award winners were shocked when they got the congratulatory call! They never thought they had a chance."
