LAS VEGAS – The 3M Stikit, Hookit and Hookit II Discs 735U abrasive line is now available in both Hookit discs and Stikit tab liner discs. The product now is also packaged in easy open, top-loaded boxes. The convenient top-loaded boxes with Hookit and Stikit tab liners help protect the discs from dust contamination before woodworkers are ready to use them.
“It’s important to keep abrasive discs stored properly in your woodworking shop to protect your material investment. Compared to traditional disc roll packaging, the new 735U Hookit and Stikit tab liners will help protect abrasive discs from unwanted dust exposure prior to disc use and the top-loaded boxes provide an easily-accessible storage system,” said Tom Eggert, business manager for 3M Woodworking Markets.
3M Stikit, Hookit and Hookit II 735U discs are designed specifically for whitewood random orbital sanding applications, including wood furniture, cabinets and other wood surfaces. 735U discs feature 3M Cubitron Abrasive Grain and load resistant coating, a patented mineral that provides excellent product life and cut rate along with outstanding finish consistency. The line also features C-weight paper backing for greater tear resistance.
“Customers using the 735U discs are already seeing the benefits of Cubitron mineral technology with its enhanced fracture toughness for longer disc life. By reducing the number of discs used per part, woodworkers can improve manufacturing throughput,” added Eggert.
3M will feature its Stikit, Hookit and Hookit II Discs 735U abrasive line at the AWFS Show in Las Vegas on July 18-21, 2007, in Booth #2014. 3M will also showcase the new and improved 3M Cloth Wide Belt 240D with a re-engineered backing that is thicker and stronger to increase durability and resist creasing or folding, as well as the company’s full line of Wood Repair products to fix small imperfections and large flaws in finished or unfinished wood surfaces.
