BRITISH COLUMBIA - One Canadian tree planting service has delayed its planting season until early May.

Because of provincial safety mandates, Dynamic Reforestation Ltd. is requiring every staff member to complete a daily journal for two weeks before they can work, describing how self-isolated they are and if they've shown any COVID-19-related symptoms.

“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to ensure that our operations are in alignment with the direction provided by the provincial health officer,” said Mikin Fischer, office manager for Dynamic Reforestation Ltd. in Williams Lake.

Dynamic runs six camps, but Fischer anticipates that only four or five will be in operation this year.
