LAVAL, Quebec -- Following completion of a $53 million investment in its Val-d'Or operation in 2017, Uniboard announces an additional $38.5 million investment for Val-d'Or. This is the second phase of a major upgrade project for the particleboard and thermally fused laminate facility in Val-d'Or.
This new round of modernization will focus on screening, sifting, milling and intermediary storage equipment that will lay the foundation for later phases of upgrading the Val-d'Or press and finishing lines.
With the installation of new state-of-the art equipment, Uniboard is pursuing its vision for its Val-d'Or facility. The fiber quality of this region contributes to Val-d'Or's particleboard substrates and decorative melamine panels in terms of performance, machinability cost, weight, and color.
The project's new dry preparation capabilities will improve fiber processing efficiency and involves a new building with state-of-the-art protection safety systems for employees. See http://www.uniboard.com.
