TORONTO – Contract furniture makers Fantoni of Osoppo, Italy and Pair of San Francisco were among the winners of Azure magazine’s 10th annual AZ Awards celebrating international architecture and product design.

Fantoni, working in collaboration with architecture and design firm Gensler of Chicago, won a People’s Choice Award in the Furniture Systems and Collections category for Atelier, a four-piece modular office system. The sleek, minimalist-designed system consists of a mobile pinboard, a touchdown table, a storage unit and a bookcase featuring wireless lighting that can quickly be rearranged as needed.

Pair won an AZ Award in the Design, Interior Product category for Toast in partnership with Studio Hopkins of Austin, Texas. Toast is an acoustic panel divider that can be applied vertically and horizontally. Because of their lightweight – only 4.5kg (9.2 lbs), the 48-inch by 60-inch privacy panels can be readily moved without tools. Surface options include wrapped wool, laminate and wood veneer.

Azure is a Toronto-based media brand covering architecture and design.
