TORONTO — Alumni Educational Solutions, a manufacturer of educational furniture for pre-school, K-12, and higher education classrooms across North America has been acquired by an equity consortium led by investment firm Castle Harlan.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Ironbridge Equity Partners, of Toronto, Ontario, has been an investment backer in the Temple, Texas, and Waterloo, Ontario-based company, and supported the management’s growth initiatives by expanding the U.S. sales network, managing succession, and enhancing Alumni’s go-to-market strategy and product offerings.
“Our partnership with Alumni has been exceptional, marked by shared commitment and collaboration to drive growth,” said Andrew Walton, Managing Partner at Ironbridge. “We extend our best wishes to management for their continued success and express our gratitude to the original founders for their contributions over the years.”
“Ironbridge has been an outstanding partner to Alumni and its leadership team,” said Dave Godwin, Founder of Alumni. “Their strategic guidance has been invaluable as we evolved into a true multinational platform. We look forward to watching the management team continue to build on this foundation under new ownership.”
Alumni, according to its website, creates classroom environments that seek to enable the best learning opportunities possible and motivate students to engage in their educational process and help ensure student success. Alumni manufacturers both traditional and 21st century learning environments (desks, chairs, tables, storage, cafeteria) and focuses on tailored value propositions that solve customer specific pain-points.
In addition to Alumni, Castle Harlan’s portfolio includes:
• Baja Aqua Farms, a leader in Bluefin tuna ranching;
• Sunless, Inc., provider of branded ultraviolet free (“UV-free”) spray tanning equipment
• Titan Production Equipment, a leader in the design, engineering and fabrication of oil and gas production equipment;
