Stiles Machinery opened its doors to nearly 100 students from three local area high schools in celebration of Manufacturing Day, an annual nationwide event designed to inspire the next generation and offer them insights into what manufacturing looks like today.

Stiles Machinery Inc. opened its doors to local students on October 5 to mark Manufacturing Day, a nationwide event that takes place each year to inspire the next generation.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Stiles Machinery Inc. will open its doors to local students on Thursday, October 5th, 2017 for a Manufacturing Day event. Attendees will receive guided tours of the Stiles manufacturing, distribution and training center and a hands-on experience in modern-day manufacturing. Manufacturing Day is a nationwide movement designed to inspire the next generation by giving them insights into what manufacturing looks like today and how it will look in the future.

The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) will partner with Middle Tennessee Lumber (MTL) for Manufacturing Day, an event to be held at MTL’s mill location in Burns, Tennessee on Oct. 6.

Companies can host their own event Friday, October 6.

Manufacturing Day, October 7, 2016, is a special day that companies across America salute modern manufacturing and bring it to the attention of the next generation of workers.

On Manufacturing Day, Oct. 2, 2015, the American Home Furnishings Alliance (AHFA) will introduce a jobs program for the furniture industry.

As part of the third-annual Manufacturing Day, more than 1,600 manufacturers across the country are opening their doors and displaying the exciting, technology-driven operations that make manufacturing among the most rewarding career options available.

The co-producers of Manufacturing Day are pleased to announce the recognition received today from the White House regarding the role that this national grassroots event plays in informing tomorrow's workforce about careers.

Today more than 200 manufacturing companies participated in the first annual Manufacturing Day, a national event to highlight the importance of manufacturing to the U.S. economy and showcase the rewarding, highly skilled jobs available in manufacturing fields. The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and the Manufacturing Institute, along with the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, International and the U.S. Commerce Department's Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership, are co-producers of the event.
