PROJECT: Reception desk for Downtown Properties in
Los Angeles, designed by Rockefeller Partner Architects

DESCRIPTION: When the owner of Downtown Properties opened his offices in an historic building, he wanted to
complement the details of the aging structure with a youthful aesthetic. This custom reception desk was designed to
blend new and old styles.

SPECIAL NOTES: The circular cutouts on the reception desk were done using a CNC router. The main materials are
caramelized bamboo plywood and maple Europly, with a glass support for the transaction counter and stainless steel accents. MASHstudios says that all of its wood panels are CARB-compliant and it avoids using finishing materials that release VOCs.
