I'm a DIYer (not a professional) with walnut plywood and ran into an issue. After sanding and applying a pre-stain conditioner, I used a Jacobean stain. However, some "yellow" or lighter spots showed up, especially where I used wood filler.
For the filler, I used Minwax 42853 Stainable Wood Filler.
It seems like the filler didn't absorb the stain the same way as the rest of the wood.
What would be the best way to fix or improve these uneven spots?
Any advice or techniques would be greatly appreciated
