ATLANTA - The Home Depot acquired Houston-based Blinds.com, the leading online window coverings retailer. Though terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Blinds.com management team and staff will remain intact at its headquarters in Houston.
In addition to draperies and curtains, Blinds.com does a ig business in wooden shutters.
"The acquisition of Blinds.com positions us well for expansion in the quickly growing online window coverings market," said Frank Blake, Chairman & CEO of The Home Depot."Their unique sales and service model is one we hope to learn from as we continue to create even better interconnected retail experiences for our customers."
In operation since 1996, Blinds.com staff are available by phone, live chat and face-to-face video consultation. The Home Depot says that as it implements its interconnected retail strategy, it will work with Blinds.com to expand such technology into homedepot.com and the company's retail locations to improve the window coverings buying process.
