LANCASTER, Pa. - Frank Miller Lumber's Criswell Davis will do a presentation on the quartersawing process and how quartersawn lumber kiln dries differently from plain sawn.
Speaking October 19 at 10:00 a.m. at Wood Pro Expo in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Davis is an approved continuing education provider for the American Institute of Architects, lectures at university, and is renowned internationally for extolling the many virtues of sustainable American hardwoods in design. He regularly visits with architectural and design firms, job sites, manufacturers and universities around the world.

"I will also talk about how 'rift' is separated from 'quartered' and how quartersawn lumber is the most stable lumber for cabinets, flooring, millwork and furniture," Davis says. "I will give attendees a context for our present-day sustainable forestry practices and how it is a model for the world. I will talk about carbon sequestration and how American hardwoods are finding a place in 'green' building projects around the world."

Davis will also include beautiful pictures of quartersawn American hardwoods in applications from around the world. "I will also offer information about correctly specifying American hardwoods to achieve maximum value and beauty in every project," he says.
