Normand to highlight panel processing prowess at SIBO 2022

DRUMMONDVILLE, Quebec – Normand, a leading Quebec-based distributor of woodworking machinery, will display a variety of equipment at Salon Industriel du Bois Ouvré (SIBO), including panel processing equipment from Vitap and Cehisa. In addition, Altendorf’s award-winning Handguard sliding table saw, will make its first Canadian public showing.

The Vitap Point K2 2.0 from Normand combines the capability of four machines in a revolutionary machining center. It can perform drilling on the surface and on all four sides of the panel as well as groove, rout, and cut square and shaped parts. The e patented Bar Nesting System allows the five faces of the panel to be machined in just 4 minutes. The new patented Double Dynamic Transport system (DDT) uses double clamp technology to provide seamless panel movement and continuous four-sided milling. The Point K2 2.0 offers optimal flexibility in a machine with a very small footprint making it ideal for shops of all sizes.

Altendorf and Normand will present for the first time in Canada, the new Handguard sliding table saw. The world’s first and only AI and two camera-based safety assistance system that detects potential accidents and prevents them before they occur by driving the blade down in less than a quarter of a second. The machine is then ready to use again in less than 10 seconds. Suitable for all saw blades and materials, the Handguard protects people without damaging materials or machinery. The Handguard received the German Occupational Award in 2021.

The new C-Motion technology of the Cehisa Dynamic series of edgebanders provides control of up to 18 axes directly from the touchscreen.

Normand will present the new Cehisa Dynamic series which combines innovation, versatility, and reliability in a compact edgebander. The new C-Motion technology provides control of up to 18 axes directly from the touchscreen offering optimal precision and agility when adjusting the machining groups. Operating at a feed rate of up to 14 meters per minute, the Dynamic C-Motion offers all the operational units needed to provide a perfect edge including pre-milling and corner-rounding.
