MEXICO CITY - Director-General of the National Forestry Commission León Jorge Castaños and Hannover Fairs México CEO Bernd Rohde Oberheide have entered into a cooperation agreement to coordinate actions within the framework of MEM Industrial 2020. The country’s leading timber processing and furniture manufacturing trade show, MEM Industrial (Magna ExpoMueblera) is scheduled to take place on Jan. 22-24, at Centro Citibanamex in Mexico City.
“The purpose of this partnership is to implement joint actions that foster direct contact between community forestry companies and suppliers of machinery, technology and inputs for the processing of timber and the manufacturing of furniture at MEM Industrial 2020, while laying the foundations for future cooperation at events to promote the forestry sector,” said Castaños.
According to Rohde, “This long-term strategic partnership between CONAFOR and Hannover Fairs México will enable MEM industrial to promote the sustainability of the country’s forestry sector, professionalize the sector and provide more training in this area.”
CONAFOR will have a pavilion at the “Forestry Technology” section of MEM Industrial 2020 and will be participating in the event’s program of conferences and seminars.
Boasting 10,000 square meters of exhibition space and more than 200 exhibitors from at least nine countries, MEM Industrial 2020 is expected to draw more than 7,000 professional woodworking industry buyers.
