Catas technical training on formaldehyde, VOCs in May

Technical training continues to be one of the pillars of Catas’ activity as an important European laboratory for wood and furniture.

The Catas laboratory has upgraded its programming by presenting a new program of webinars open to all the companies operating in the wood and furniture sector.

The first three events have already been defined. The Catas technical experts will talk and deepen a selection of topics that currently affect the furniture sector. This is the full program:


Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at 8 a.m. EDT 

Formaldehyde in the wood and furniture sector

Speaker: dr. Franco Bulian, CATAS Vice director.

Presentation will cover all is known today about formaldehyde which is considered as one of the main sources of indoor pollution caused by furniture. It will also be an opportunity to be informed on the legislative and regulatory context in Europe and the U.S.

VOC and indoor environments

Speaker: dr. Daniele Bergamasco, CATAS Vice director. 

The materials for furniture containing VOC will be examined, by deepening how and in which situations VOC emissions should be considered dangerous. The focus will therefore be on the indoor air quality and on the reference test methods used for the emissions analysis.
