Designer Kathleen Jacobson, The Couture Closet, won the 2018 Top Shelf Design Awards wood closet over 18 linear feet category with “Westlake Luxury His & Hers Closet.” This expansive master walk-in closet was part of a 3,000-square-foot addition to a luxury home in Westlake, Texas.

Project details
Beautiful stained wood with inset glass door fronts showcase this large luxury His & Her walk-in closet with European style inset cabinetry. Her side includes custom designed jewelry trays, pull out hamper baskets, a drop-down ironing board and extra built-in drawer space. His side features two large dressers, upper enclosed cabinets and tall, narrow pullout cabinets designed to house his tie and belt collection.
All shoe shelving is fully adjustable with toe kicks. The inset style pullout valet rods were mounted. A stunning chandelier finishes the space. The new master closet was part of a 3,000-square-foot addition to a beautiful home in Westlake, Texas. Van Trease Constructors built the addition. Cabinetry fabricated by their subcontractor Dozier Cabinet Works.
Materials used
All 25-inch-deep boxes are constructed with stain-grade maple interiors and exteriors. Birch was used inside all full extension soft-close drawers with bottom mount glides. Blum soft-close hinges were used on all doors. A combination of Glass and mirrored inset doors were used.
