ARCHDALE, N.C. - Häfele America recently broke ground on its expanded headquarters and will add 18,000 square feet to its current 26,000-square-foot facility. The expansion, expected to be completed by Fall 2017, will include open office space and a new showroom in a modern, European design.

The newly expanded facility is expected to be completed Fall 2017.

“Our new building, with its sleek design and updated amenities, will be a dynamic addition to the community—for all who visit and work with our company,” said Paul K. Smith, president of Häfele America Co. “When completed this building will truly represent the inspiration and innovation Häfele is known for around the world.”

Founded in 1973 and headquartered in Archdale since 1989, Häfele America is the largest of 37 Häfele subsidiaries worldwide. The company’s original founder, Wolfgang Häfele actually had the foresight to leave open the grounds which the addition will now be built upon.

“The intent of that open space was always to expand when the time was right,” explains Häfele America Co. co-founder and Corporate Director Ursula Häfele. “This new facility is the embodiment of a dream which began well over 40 years ago when we brought Häfele products to the United States.”

Hafele is a leading worldwide supplier of furniture and architectural hardware components for cabinets, doors, kitchens, bathrooms and other living and working environments, as well as LED lighting, decorative hardware, opening and closing mechanisms for doors and drawers, furniture fittings and electronic locking systems.
