RESTON, Va - Cabinetry sales more than doubled in January, rising 9.3% for the month compared to January 2016, according to participating members in the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association's (KCMA) monthly Trend of Business Survey.
KCMA's survey found stock cabinet sales increased 10.3% and semi-custom sales rose 11.6%, with custom sales dropping 1% compared to the same period last year.
For 2016 as a whole, cabinet sales were up 4.3% in 2016, reaching $6.8 billion. KCMA Trend of Business Survey participants include stock, semi-custom, and custom companies whose combined sales represent approximately 70 percent of the U.S. kitchen cabinet and bath vanity market.
KCMA is the major trade association for kitchen cabinet and bath vanity manufacturers and key suppliers of goods and services to the industry. The association has been compiling and reporting industry sales data for more than 40 years.
