WASHINGTON – Indianapolis, IN, maintained its standing as the most affordable major U.S. housing market for a sixth consecutive time in the final quarter of 2006, according to the National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Opportunity Index.

WASHINGTON -- Sales of new single-family homes fell 3.9% in February to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 848,000, the lowest level since August of 2000, according to figures released Mar. 26 by the U.S. Commerce Department. The February fall-off followed downward revisions to the sales rates for the three previous months.

Stock sales were up 8.1%; semi-custom sales were up 8.8%; and custom sales were up 2.4%.
