Fortune Brands' cabinet sales hurt by Hurricane Florence, overall sales up

DEERFIELD, Ill. - Cabinet, door, and security products giant Fortune Brands Home & Security announced its third quarter 2018 results.
 
Hurricane Florence stopped shipments at Fortune Brands for eight days. Cabinet sales declined 2 percent versus the prior year. Excluding strategic exits from targeted U.S. home center and Canadian business, cabinet sales increased 1 percent.

Resolute Forest invests $40 million in Ontario operations, adds 25 jobs

MONTREAL - Resolute Forest Products announced $40 million in investments at its Northwestern Ontario operations, in addition to $13.5 million in major maintenance and the creation of 25 new jobs.
