DUBLIN, CA - In-home wood refinishing is the specialty of Dold’s Workshop, a San Francisco area cabinet re-facing and kitchen cabinet refinishing firm.
Dold's markets its cabinetry business as a four step process – strip, sand, stain, and lacquer – promoting to residential clients that in-home refinishing can be performed safely and with less dust and disruption than new cabinet installation.
Dold's Workshop tells clients they can maintain their existing kitchen, bathroom and bar cabinets, using a refinishing process. Owner Mike Apodaca says Dold's Workshop uses a better lacquer than new cabinets, one that is more durable, and longer lasting. Dold's also sells new cabinets if needed at 50 percent off.
Founded in 1976, and operated by two generations of Apodaca's, Dold's Workshop also restores and refinishes furniture, both contemporary and antique wood pieces. Services include kitchen cabinet refinishing, bathroom cabinet refinishing, bar cabinet refinishing, veneer refinishing, furniture restoration, antique restoration, cabinet re-facing and scratch repair.
In refinishing cabinets, Dold's stains, then seals with an oil-based lacquer finishto make cabinets look brand new.
“It’s a green process," says Mike Apodaca, owner of Dold’s Workshop, since "no trees are cut down when you recycle your furniture or your in-home cabinets.”
