Danzer Group Add Online Veneer Database

FRANKFURT, GERMANY Danzer Group, a manufacturer of hardwood veneers, announced an expansion of its company Web site. Visitors can now view a detailed veneer database with various search options. Customers are provided with information on the origin, color, characteristics and application of each species, as well as an overview of available lumber. Customers also can use an interactive feature to find the right Interforest contact partner in their area.

OGB Architectural Millwork Receives Job Funding

ALBUQUERQUE, NM -- OGB Architectural Millwork received $63,830 from New Mexico?s Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP) for the creation of 12 new jobs, according to Expansion Management. JTIP reimburses a portion of training costs connected with jobs created by new or expanding companies that either create a product in New Mexico or have a non-retail service with 50% of the customer and revenue base outside the state. Currently, six businesses received funding.

HNI Corp. Announces Second Quarter Results

MUSCATINE, IA -- HNI Corp. announced second quarter sales of $671.3 million, compared to $594.2 million during the same quarter last year. Net income was $28.7 million for the quarter, which ended July 1. Acquisitions completed during the first quarter, as well as acquisitions completed during 2005, accounted for $36 million of the increase in sales. Gross margins for the second quarter were 34.9% versus 36.1% for the same quarter last year.

East Teak Announces Name Change

DALLAS -- East Teak Fine Hardwoods Inc., an importer of teak lumber and other hardwood products, announced that the company has been renamed to broaden the brand emphasis from teak woods to all fine hardwoods. The company formerly operated as East Teak Trading Group Inc. Other changes taking place to reflect the new company image will be a re-branding strategy that will include a new logo design, Web site redesign, and the redesign and creation of other marketing materials to help support East Teak's new image.

Huttig Reports Q3 Sales Decline

ST. LOUIS -- Huttig Building Products Inc., a distributor of millwork, building materials and wood products, reported a decline in sales of 3% in the third quarter 2006 to $294.2 million, according to Yahoo. The company also announced its decision to close, in the fourth quarter of 2006, two smaller distribution centers, one in Albany, NY, and the other in Grand Rapids, MI.

TRACO to Open New Georgia Location

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA -- TRACO, a manufacturer windows and doors, is expanding an 80,000-square-foot building for a new plant in Bainbridge, GA, according to The Post-Searchlight. The construction completion date is scheduled for the first quarter of 2007. TRACO President and CEO Robert P. Randall said a key factor in the company’s decision was the strategic location of Bainbridge to the Gulf Coast.
