OSLO, NORWAY -- Qatar Fertiliser Co. (QAFCO), set up a joint venture with Qatar Intermediate Industries Holding Co. to establish Qatar Melamine Co., which will build a $250 million melamine plant with a capacity of 60,000 tons. Construction is scheduled for the fourth quarter and will be completed by early 2009. It will be the world?s second largest melamine plant and the largest in the Middle East.
