OMT-Veyhl to Expand Furniture Components Facility

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, MI - OMT-Veyhl today announced a 98,000 square foot, $8.8 million expansion at its facility located at 11511 James Street in Holland Township, Michigan. The expansion will involve the creation of 206 new jobs.

“OMT-Veyhl USA Corporation believes in creating US jobs, local manufacturing and a close connection to our customers,” said Lars Reuter, President of OMT-Veyhl USA. “We appreciate the working relationship and all of the support from the MEDC. The great West Michigan work ethic of our employees and the good relationship with the local community helped support our decision to expand.”

The ergonomic furniture equipment manufacturer has seen tremendous growth in the western United States causing them to look at an expansion in Holland Township or at its sister facility in California.

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation has provided a $750,000 performance based grant to encourage the company to expand in Michigan. Based on this grant, OMT-Veyhl pledges to hire 206 new workers and invest $8.8 million in a 98,000 square foot expansion nearly doubling the size of its current facility.

“OMT-Veyhl has been a tremendous addition to our community since they chose to site the plant in 2005, currently employing nearly 200 professionals,” said Jennifer Owens, President of Lakeshore Advantage. “We are so appreciative of being a partner in their growth.”

As part of the expansion process Holland Charter Township will consider a property tax abatement for the new facility expansion. The Township has worked very closely with OMT-Veyhl leadership on their growth plans.

“The Board members and staff of Holland Charter Township are very excited about OMT-Veyhl USA Corporationʼs announcement to expand their manufacturing facility,” Donald Komejan, Manager of Holland Charter Township. “OMT-Veyhl is a very good corporate member of our local community and we look forward to their continued success in Holland Township.”

The company has been very involved in the community since it located in the region. As a member of the West Coast Chamber of Commerce, OMT-Veyhl team members often are involved in various education and learning sessions.

“OMT-Veyhlʼs incredible growth in a relatively short period of time is a testament to what this company and the West Coast business community can do when we work together,” said Jane Clark, President of the Michigan West Coast Chamber of Commerce. “We celebrate OMT-Veyhlʼs decision to expand their Holland location, and will support them in any way possible.”
