ATLANTA -- Havertys Furniture has undertaken a national sponsorship of the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk.

The annual event takes place in cities nationwide every October during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer.

Through its participation, Havertys associates formed more than 100 teams to participate in this year’s walks. Teams solicited pledges for their miles walked, have held in-store fund raisers and offered customers the opportunity to participate via a Pink Ribbon “Hope” tree in every showroom.

“We are thrilled about the difference our teams, across the country, are making, to help eliminate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease,” said Clarence Smith, Havertys CEO.
