Masco Cabinetry to Close Merillat Plant in OhioANN ARBOR, MI -  Masco Cabinetry announced it will close its Merillat manufacturing facility in Jackson, Ohio, over the next several months. Approximately 200 employees will impacted.

"Masco Cabinetry has continued to evaluate our manufacturing needs, processes and strategy. Deciding to close a facility is never easy, but doing so will allow for greater efficiencies with the company overall," said Rick Roetken, Masco Cabinetry president.

Masco said customer services will not be impacted and other facilities will assume the production responsibilities and related process transitions.

The Jackson facility opened in 1976 to produce solid oak front frames. Masco said in a statement it will entertain purchase offers for the facility.

A division of Masco Corp., Masco Cabinetry manufactures the cabinetry brands Merillat, KraftMaid and QualityCabinets, as well as the DeNova countertop brand. Net sales for the division in the first half of 2013 rose 4 percent to $501 million. Masco's Cabinets and Related Products' 2012 annual net sales were $1.2 billion.
