UMUEJINWANKE UMUDAGU, NIGERIA - Thirty-one people were killed instantly and 16 more were injured when a large iroko tree fell on them during a rainstorm last Thursday night.
The 200-year-old tree, which also goes by the trade name African teak, also reportedly destroyed the village hall of Umuejinwaoke Umudagu, according to the News
“I do not know what to say. God, what can we call this? My people were destroyed within a twinkle of an eye, what a pity,” Eze Godwin Duru, traditional ruler of the community, told the news agency.
