Mote kicks off second biomass to hydrogen project in Northern California

LOS ANGELES — Mote Inc. has received $1.2 million in grant funding from the US Forest Service, the California Department of Conservation, and the California Department of Forestry (CAL FIRE) to establish its second biomass to hydrogen and carbon sequestration plant in partnership with the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD).

Study: Wood industry releases 'more carbon than Russia'

A new paper in Nature by World Resources Institute researchers published online on July 5 finds that the world’s yearly wood harvests are likely to emit 3.5 to 4.2 billion tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year, more than 10% of recent global annual emissions of carbon dioxide.

Roseburg CEO to retire Sept. 30; new successor named

Roseburg has announced that Grady Mulbery will retire from his position as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective Sept. 30, 2023. As part of this planned leadership succession, Roseburg’s board of directors unanimously elected Chief Operating Officer Stuart Gray to succeed Mulbery as president and CEO, effective Oct. 1, 2023.
