LOS ANGELES — Mote Inc. has received $1.2 million in grant funding from the US Forest Service, the California Department of Conservation, and the California Department of Forestry (CAL FIRE) to establish its second biomass to hydrogen and carbon sequestration plant in partnership with the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD).

A 67-year-old man was killed in an accident at an Alabama lumber mill. His death on August 23 was the second such death at the mill in the last three years and the third in the last 14 years.
