Luc Lagueux, business of development manager of Richelieu, discusses his company's new hardware featuring an antibacterial finish during the 2011 Woodworking Machinery & Supply Fair in Toronto.
The D-type pulls, made with 95% recycled content, are coated with a certified antibacterial finish that protects the product from various bacteria, mold and mildew that can cause staining, odorous and product deterioration. The antibacterial agent integrated into the finish of the handles slows bacterial growth and proliferation by suffocating, starving and sterilizing microbes on the surface of the hardware. Product uses include healthcare and education institutions; restaurants and grocery stores; traffic areas like airports, train stations, rest rooms, etc.; and office and residential furniture.
